Gilt Type 0 (OCC)
Explorer 1016 — Gilt Type 0 (OCC)
Transitional first 1016 dial that keeps the 6610’s “Officially Certified Chronometer” text; the only 1016 dial without “Superlative”. Chapter ring and recessed lume plots; 1016 and 6610 dials are not interchangeable.
Serials run from about 516,xxx (1959) into the R and L letter series of 1987–1989. Dial types were not strictly sequential: some matte dials reappear late in the run.
