Pre-COSC Single-Line Dial
Oysterquartz Mark 1 17000 — Pre-COSC Single-Line Dial
The earliest dials, from before the movement was chronometer-certified: no “Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified” text, so the dial carries only three lines with “Oysterquartz” alone at six. Blue examples of this period sometimes age to purple.

Rolex 5035
Rolex’s in-house quartz caliber for the Oysterquartz Datejust: a 32 kHz oscillator with thermal compensation driving a pallet fork and escape wheel, hence its loud tick. Shares parts with the mechanical 3035. Chronometer-certified after the first production. Taken out of production in 2001.
