The first gold Rolex sports watch: burgundy-brown Bakelite bezel, nipple hour markers, alpha hands and a small-triangle 24-hour hand. Very few made. Examples: case 367'383 (1958, cal. 1065) and case 424'267 (c. 1959, cal. 1066, “among the last batch”).
A Rolex statement of early 1960 gives 605 Bakelite-bezel GMT-Masters imported to the US by then.
