Seamaster PloProf 166.077
1971–19797 variants
Seamaster 600 “Plongeur Professionnel”, developed with COMEX for saturation diving. Monobloc case loaded through the front so helium cannot enter (no escape valve), crown on the left behind a locking nut, and a bi-directional bezel that turns only while the red button is pressed. Made of “Uranus” (904L-type) steel; caliber 1002. Rated 600 m but tested to 1,000 m and shown to survive about 1,370 m.
HODINKEE notes that over 60% of PloProfs serviced at Omega in Bienne had swapped movements, and that service dials, hands and bezels are common.
