Large-model Coussin of the Louis Cartier Collection: a two-part gold case held by four visible screws on the back, white dial signed “Cartier Paris” with Roman numerals and chemin-de-fer track, blued hands, beaded crown with sapphire cabochon and Cartier cal. 78-1. The documented examples are the “Bamboo” version, with deeply grooved, bark-like bezel and lugs.
Reference and serial are engraved on the caseback. Production of the Coussin “Bamboo” Jumbo is estimated at around 250.
