Tank à Guichets
1928–?3 variants
Cartier’s first jump-hour wristwatch. Normale-style brancards around a closed metal face with two apertures. Made into the 1930s, typically as one-off commissions for VIP clients such as Duke Ellington and the Maharaja of Patiala, and not offered to the general market.
No reference number; each 1920s–30s example was essentially a unique commission, varying in aperture shape, brancard integration, crown position and metal. Fewer than 400 Tank à Guichets of all eras are thought to exist.
