Cartier’s elongated oval watch. Its form goes back to a 1912 oval made for Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna; the Baignoire was formally introduced in 1957. Cartier London stretched it in the 1960s into the oversized “Maxi Oval”, which Cartier Paris took up as the Baignoire Allongée in 1973.
