Day-Date MKIII 6511
1956–19573 variants
The first Day-Date with a fluted (reeded) bezel, shown at the 1956 Basel Fair after the name was registered on 23 July 1955. Cases are thicker and more curved than later references, with a rounded screw-down back; some cases are numbered as early as late 1955. The movement struggled to build enough energy to switch day and date at midnight, and the reference was replaced by the 6611 in 1957.
Made for roughly one year. Cased by Brevet in yellow or pink gold (Monaco Legend).
