Futurematic E 501
1951–19587 variants
Tonneau case with round bezel; two-tone silver dial with 40-hour power reserve at 9 and small seconds at 3. Sold as “Automatic” and known as Futurematic; billed as the first “100% automatic” watch, started by a shake. Later watches used calibres 827 (1953), 817 (1956) and 837 (1958), all with an oversized antimagnetic balance and overwind protection. US dials read “LeCoultre” because of import tariffs.
