Louis Cartier collection Tortue, added after the original twelve models of 1973. Five-digit reference followed by the serial on the caseback. Dealer copy calls it the “Extra Plate”, about 5 mm thick with a Frédéric Piguet cal. 21.
HODINKEE has seen the 1970s Tortue only with Mark 3 dials, suggesting it arrived in the late 1970s; it does not quote this reference number, which comes from the case numbers of the lots below.
