Santos Dumont Santos (early Cartier Paris)
1911–?2 variants
The first commercial Santos, sold by Cartier Paris from 1911 in gold and platinum after Louis Cartier’s 1904 watch for Santos-Dumont. Square case with the bezel held by screws fixed from beneath, defined lugs for a strap, a sapphire cabochon crown, and LeCoultre-made movements, often signed by the European Watch & Clock Co.
No reference numbers in the modern sense: cases carry hand-stamped Cartier Paris stock/reference numbers and Edmond Jaeger punch marks, so collectors identify these watches by model name, case maker and date.
