Santos Droit
c. 1911–?2 variants
Early Santos variant from Cartier Paris with long lugs curving around the case ends instead of pinching inwards, and a chamfered rather than rounded bezel secured by screws from beneath. Very rare.
No reference number; identified by its case form. Cases carry Paris stock numbers and the Edmond Jaeger punch. A 1914 example made by Cartier Paris for Cartier New York is published in Chaille & Cologni, The Cartier Collection: Timepieces (2006), p. 113, as cited by Sotheby’s.
