Must de Cartier Tank
The Tank of Les Must de Cartier, the lower-priced line created by Robert Hocq and Alain-Dominique Perrin. Shaped after the Tank Louis Cartier but cased in vermeil — sterling silver with a thick gold plating — it was the first Cartier watch made in series in a non-precious-metal finish and sold at about US$500. Famous for its range of dials, from classic Roman to sector, Trinity, tricolour frames, stone and monochrome lacquer (burgundy, black, blue, cream). Mechanical at first, quartz from the early 1980s; replaced by the Tank Solo in 2004.
